Harry Kane: England captain and 2026 Ballon d’Or winner signs new contract at Bayern Munich running until 2029 | Football News
Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich.
The deal will see him remain with the Bundesliga giants until the summer of 2029.
Sky in Germany are reporting Kane’s new salary is at least £20.9m (€25m) gross per year.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern,” Kane told the club’s official website.
“I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.
“My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”
Kane has scored a phenomenal 156 goals in 161 matches since moving from Tottenham to Bayern in 2023.
His 73 goals for club and country last season – including six in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with England – helped him become the first English winner of the men’s Ballon d’Or for 25 years.
During his time at Bayern, Kane has won two Bundesliga titles – the first in 2025 acting as the first major trophy of his career – as well as last season’s German Cup and the German Super Cup in the last two years.
In the last three years, Kane has also won the European Golden Shoe twice – given to the top scorer on the continent – and has won the Bundesliga Golden Boot in each of his three seasons at Bayern.
Kane also took England to the Euro 2024 final during his time with the German giants, as well as leading the Three Lions to their best World Cup finish since 1966 earlier this summer.
Last month he equalled Peter Shilton’s England appearance record by winning his 125th cap, which he will hope to beat in the upcoming Nations League matches.
Record-breaking Kane has ‘a lot more left in the tank’
Analysis by Sky Sports News’ Michael Bridge:
“Harry Kane, we’ve said consistently on Sky Sports News, is very happy at Bayern Munich.
“He’s a real family man and they love living in Munich. He’s a private man as well, he gets his privacy there and he’s done incredibly well.
“At the end of the season when he spoke to Vincent Kompany – they thought if it wasn’t for PSG they probably would have gone on to win the Champions League.
“I agree with that. They were absolutely outstanding last season. He’s got a great relationship with the players and Kompany, you can see the goals, he’s breaking records galore and the goals he scores as well.
“Listen to the Bayern Munich director saying they don’t usually negotiate deals for players at this age. But I’m telling you this – he might be 33 but there’s still a lot more left in the tank for Kane, there’s absolutely no doubt about it.”
