Disney’s Newest Live-Action Remake Announced Following ‘Moana’s Box Office Failure

Even after the absolutely abysmal performance of the House of Mouse’s Moana remake at the box office, Disney isn’t done with live-action reimaginings of popular franchises just yet. Deadline is now reporting that a live-action The Princess and the Frog movie is officially in the works, with none other than Euphoria icon Colman Domingo and Tony-nominated director Robert O’Hara attached to write the screenplay. However, this new take on one of Disney’s last 2D-animated movies may not be a typical remake in the traditional sense. The movie is currently being billed as an “untitled Princess Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose in the 2009 animated classic) movie,” implying that this could be a more original story following Princess and the Frog‘s main protagonist.
