Prime Video has officially released the new trailer for Madden, the upcoming R-rated sports biopic starring Nicolas Cage(Longlegs) as legendary NFL coach and broadcaster John Madden and Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) as Raiders owner Al Davis. The Amazon MGM Studios movie will open in select theaters on November 11 before making its streaming debut on Prime Video.
Directed by David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook), Madden chronicles John Madden’s incredible journey alongside best friend and true original Al Davis – from a Super Bowl-winning partnership with the Raiders, to becoming football’s most recognizable voice, to building the worldwide Madden NFL video game. The film is the celebration of a brilliant mind whose once in a century spirit and personality, partnership with his daring wife Virginia, lifelong friendships, and infectious love of people and football transcended the world of sports.

Who Stars in ‘Madden’?
Cage leads the movie as Madden opposite Bale as Davis, and they’re surrounded by a pretty ridiculous cast. John Mulaney (Everybody’s Live) plays Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins, while Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along) stars as Madden’s wife, Virginia. Sienna Miller (Anatomy of a Scandal) plays Davis’ wife, Carol, with Shane Gillis (Tires) appearing as former Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler. The ensemble also includes Tracey Ullman (Mrs. America) and Cody Kearsley (Riverdale).
This is the latest movie from Bale to feature a real-life sports figure, too. The chameleonic British actor is no stranger to a well told biopic, having previous taken on the role of legendary racing driver Ken Miles in Ford vs. Ferrari from James Mangold, as well as Dicky Eklund in The Fighter, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. That film was also directed by Russell, who knows exactly what he needs to do to bring out the best in Bale.
Madden opens in select theaters on November 11 before streaming on Prime Video.
