The final round of the regular Betfred Super League season is here and there is still so much on the line.

There is a trophy up for grabs, positions to be decided and teams vying for a home play-off spot.

With that in mind, there are outcomes galore and a ‘Frantic Friday’ of action not to be missed.

Five games, all kicking off at the same time, that will decide the outcome of the regular season and how the play-offs will shape up.

So what exactly is at stake? Let’s take a look…

League Leaders’ Shield: Wigan’s to lose

The battle for the League Leaders’ Shield will go down to the wire and be decided in the final round of Super League action.

Wigan Warriors’ emphatic 40-8 win at Leeds Rhinos in their top-of-the-table clash has left Matt Peet’s side in pole position for the honour.

Indeed, Oli Partington believes they have “one hand” on the trophy that would secure them a domestic double.

However, they need one more win to wrap that up when they take on Catalans Dragons on Friday.

They win that match and the Shield is theirs.

However, if they lose, Leeds Rhinos can take the League Leaders’ Shield, for the first time since 2015, with a win over Hull FC.

If both teams win or if both teams lose, then it is Wigan’s.

The trophy will be presented on Friday evening whichever way it goes.

Play-off positions: Battling for a home play-off spot

The teams that finish in third and fourth after the regular season will guarantee themselves a home play-off spot.

Third will then play sixth, with fourth taking on fifth for a spot in the semi-finals.

Warrington, who sit in third, host in-form Toulouse Olympique who are desperate for a win that could see them finish higher than their French rivals Catalans in eighth position.

A win for Warrington over Sylvian Houles’ team and third place in the table is secured.

However, fourth-placed Wakefield Trinity could still usurp the Wolves as they aim for their best finish in the Super League era.

To do that they would need to win the mouth-watering game at Leigh Leopards, who sit just two points behind them in fifth, and see Warrington lose.

If Leigh win by a healthy margin, they could move into fourth and drop Wakefield to fifth.

If Leigh lose and sixth-placed Hull KR beat St Helens, then the defending champions could jump up from sixth to fifth.
