Cristiano Ronaldo marries long-time girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez in Portugal | Football News
Cristiano Ronaldo has married his long-time girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez at a civil ceremony in Portugal.
The couple, who have been together since 2016 after meeting in Madrid, posted a picture on Instagram showing off their rings.
Ronaldo, 41, tied the knot just four days before his club Al Nassr start their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign.
The couple were married in Cascais, a coastal resort town about 20 miles west of the Portuguese capital Lisbon, with the ceremony attended by their five children.
Ronaldo has scored nearly 1,000 goals in a career playing for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and Portugal.
He recently played in his sixth World Cup, sharing the record with Argentina’s Lionel Messi for most appearances in the men’s finals.
Earlier this summer, Ronaldo confirmed he has played in his last World Cup game – but added he won’t make any “rash decisions” on whether he has played his final game for Portugal.
“I’m sad to be leaving the World Cup like this,” he said. “I gave it my all. I did my best. It was my last World Cup, yes, but I’ll now have time to reflect and be with my family. I won’t be making any rash decisions.
“I don’t decide anything in the heat of the moment. Now is not important whether I will continue.
“I played 23 years in the national team and won three titles. Before Cristiano, Portugal had not won anything. The Euros was the most important. For me, 2016 has the same dimension as a World Cup, honestly.”
Ronaldo will be 43 by the time the next major tournament comes around – the 2028 European Championships hosted in the UK & Ireland.
Right now he is focused on the new season at Al Nassr – who are now managed by former Tottenham, Celtic and Nottingham Forest head coach Ange Postecoglou.
