Donald Trump: US president wins Bedminster Senior Club Championship and taunts opponents in Truth Social post | Golf News
Donald Trump taunted opponents after announcing he had won the Senior and Super Senior Men’s Club Championship at his Bedminster golf course in New Jersey.
Trump, 80, claimed to have posted a two-under 70 to win the championship in both categories, with the title his 43rd club championship across his collection of golf courses.
According to the club’s PGA Championship page, the US President won both titles previously in 2023, as well as recording a sole Senior Championship victory in 2024.
“I won with a score of 70, and am so honoured in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practise, because I’m focused on many other things,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.
“It’s called TALENT, and I have it, and they don’t!”
American sports writer Rick Reilly’s book – titled Commander in Cheat – has previously suggested that Trump has been known to cheat at golf.
“At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: Pele,” Reilly said in his book.
Trump has denied any allegations of cheating at golf.
